Quinton D Belcher

THE BIRTH RIGHT

Quinton D Belcher was born at Druid city hospital on may 30th, 1987 to Julie
Havard and Roger Belcher. Both his mother and father were song writers and
performers, and as a baby Quinton was inducted into the family tree of artist.
His mother with a voice like an angel and his father with a good hand to pick
his guitar and write songs, it was no mystery that Quinton would grow up with
the same talents as those who conceived him. Neither his mother or father could
know what would become.

The Begining Dayz

As a child, Quinton was picked on often in school. Being the whiteboy in a black community was not easy but as he will tell you today, it made him stronger. Just
like his mother and father the need to perform arisen in him at an early age. His father boastfully talks about when his son was 4, he picked up his mothers guitar and banged it into the wall. " Now dont get me wrong " his father says, " i was pissed, the night before i let him watch a Kiss concert with me and thats where he got the idea". It was unsure when Quinton was young which path he would go. At an early age his mother and father divorced and Quinton lost contact with his mother for a long time. It wasnt until almost 20 years later before he would be reunited with her. At age 6 his father met Cathy Anderson. She took Quinton in with her two daughters and son. For the first time in his life, Quinton had siblings. And his step brother Brandon, took Quinton in and took care of him. Teaching him how to fight and how to stand up for his selfAt age 8, Quinton was suspended from school 3 times. Each for fighting. It was also at age 8 where he discovered what he wanted to be. After hearing 2pac and Bone Thugs n Harmony, his started dreaming of becoming a rapper. His father knew his son would end up a performer, but rap wasnt what he had in mind. There was no convincing Quinton otherwise. After meeting Ben Thomas, the two started rapping to each other, and soon they were rapping at talent shows. At age 9, at a talent show in Reform, Alabama, Quinton took the stage to perform for the first time. He was stopped when he cursed on stage in front of the entire student body. In fourth grade, the suspensions continued. During these suspensions Quinton worked on his talents. After things heated up in his home with his father, step mother and siblings, Quinton moved in with his grandparents. Quinton always considered his grandmother his mother. Because she took care of him his whole life. When he moved in with his grandparents, his friend Ben moved right next door days later. The two formed a rap group which would also be a gang. It was called the NWK. Nation Wide Killaz. Homage to NWA (niggaz with attitude). At age 10, Quinton recorded his first song called Dales on fire.

The song was lackluster to say the least but to this day Quinton and Ben both say its there favorite song. Quinton also had three people he went to school with join the NWK. They robbed children of their lunch money. They sold ciggarettes and black n milds to the student body and pretty much everything your not supposed to do. This got attention from not only the teachers but also the police. Each of them were sent to a juvenile detention for 3 months. In the summer of 99, Quinton recorded more songs. But another passion of his also payed off. Quinton played football from the first grade until he quit school in 2004. He was named defensive player of the year three times from 98-2000. He loved football as well as rap. After 2pac was killed in 96, Quinton started to believe he would be the next 2pac. The white 2pac. That was until Eminem debut in 98. By the sixth grade, Quinton had been in more trouble than most people get into in there life. Then came junior highschool.

Teenage Years

As Quinton entered 7th grade, his mind was set on rap, football, girls, and weed. He started buying weed from his black friends older brothers and started saling triple price to the white kids. He was suspended four times in 7th grade and sent to an alternative school for six weeks due to fights. But the coaches were impressed with his football talents and helped get him back before the start of football season. Quinton signed an agreement along with his parents and the board of educations Dr. Duff that would allow him to play ball and attend his old school under the condition his grades stayed at a c average and he stay out of trouble. For a straight twelve weeks, Quinton was a golden student. Until football season ended. His old gang was now stronger than ever with 18 members. This kind of size brought alot of attention. Quintons friends and fellow members were arrested for saling weed and pills to students. The gang crumbled when members started fighting among there selves. In the 8th grade, Quinton had no friends but alot of enimies. This led to him quiting school at age 15. The board of education signed off. It was agreed he would attend GED classes at night but after two weeks, he quit going to the classes.

Age 16, the rapper got his drivers license and there was no keeping him contained. He constantly went to the projects where his friends lived and got high, bought weed and continued saling to the same people that he sold to when he was in school. This is also when the rapper met Barry Burnette. The two formed a new rap group and Quinton became all about the rap game and drugs. He pushed his talents to a new level and met alot of new people who he later would perform with. For two years the rapper stayed out of trouble, but only because he didnt get caught. This lasted until his 18th birthday.

                                                        THE BLESSED ONE

Four months after turning 18, the rapper was arrested for minor in possesion of alcohol. This started a long lasting battle between Quinton, the courts, and those who wanted to control him. Quinton also got his first job. At a cabinet shop in Gordo, Alabama. He worked for two years. In 2006, at age 19, Quinton upgraded from saling weed to cooking meth. In the summer of 06, he was arrested by a swat team and featured on the news and 3 different newspapers. It was a big bust, one that almost landed him in prison. There was not enough evidence to convict Quinton of the felony and all charges were dropped after serving 6 months in a missisipi county jail. Eight months later he was arrested for possesion of marijuana, and incarcerated for 2 months before being released. He also had other misdemenours along with the stiffer charges. This is also the time he released his first album titled the Begining Days. It had 9 tracks. Quinton met his long lost sister, Janie Frost, after being in the newspapers for his charges. The two formed a bond. " It was crazy how my half sister was brought into my life" Quinton said, " I was arrested in her home county after dating this girl, a girl that Janie went to school with. It just so happened my grandma on my mothers side, recognized me and my name in the paper. One day when i was at my girlfriends house, they just showed up". Alot of things happened in Quintons life from 05-07, it impacted him. On september 11th, 2007, Quinton got his old job back at the cabinet shop. It was a time for cheer and happiness. Then it happened. On september 14th, 2007, Quintons step mom died from a heart failure in a local beer store. It deeply depressed Quintons entire family. Especially his father who had spent 13 years with her. " It was the first time i met death", Quinton said. " I had known death all my life. Many peole around me died but it was the first time it actually hit me that at anytime the world can be dragged out from under you. It hurt. It was the first time i cried since i was a baby. " After the funeral was over, Quinton returned to live with his father for a short time. It took years for the family to get over.
